As a new class featured this fall, URP 402/610 A Career in Real Estate – Exploring my Path is featuring a new speaker from a different sector of the industry each week. This innovative class offers students the opportunity to explore the real estate industry from all angles, from a variety of different working professionals.
This week, we’d like to introduce Cameron Beck! Cameron is an Investment Sales Associate within JLL’s Retail Capital Markets Group based in Miami. His responsibilities include underwriting Brokers’ Opinions of Value, preparing offering materials, investor outreach, financial modeling, financial due diligence, market research and ad-hoc analyses.
In his current Investment Sales role at JLL, Cameron facilitates the entire capital markets lifestyle and has underwrote commercial retail, office and mixed-use product in excess of $6B. Before transitioning to the retail sales team, Cameron worked in retail and office investment sales at The Farbman Group, a boutique commercial real estate brokerage firm out of the Midwest. His primary
responsibilities included creating cash flow projections, property valuations, investment materials and facilitating the sale process.
Cameron graduated from the University of Michigan, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and was an active member/staff lead in the Michigan Real Estate Club. Cameron is also a proud Eagle Scout, hailing from Ann Arbor, Michigan.

The Weiser Center for Real Estate Mentorship Program is an excellent opportunity for students with an interest in real estate to engage with industry experts. Beginning this Fall, the Weiser Center will pair students with industry leaders, including board members and alumni, who offer insights gained from their professional experience. With a vast alumni network and the recent formation of the Weiser Center Advisory Board, professionals from across the country are flocking back to the University of Michigan to share their experience and knowledge.
As student face unique challenges through their academic career, mentees will benefit greatly from the assistance of a career mentor who will counsel them on what it means and what it takes to be a real estate professional. Future of Real Estate Competition 2024
Join the Weiser Center for Real Estate for the fourth annual Future of Real Estate: REIT Challenge 2024. Students will be tasked with analyzing a REIT stock portfolio and write an investment ‘buy’ recommendation. Looking at the underlying real estate will be part of the analysis. Investment decisions will be judged by a panel of distinguished REIT executives, along with an audience of their peers.
